FITTERS (STRUCTURAL & PIPING)

Department/Division:Mechanical / Piping

Reports To:Fitting Foreman

Job Summary

Fitters are responsible for cutting, threading, bending, and assembling pipes and structural steel segments.

Key Responsibilities

• Read blueprints and schematics to understand the layout.

• Measure and mark pipes for cutting and threading.

• Cut, bevel, and grind pipes/plates to specifications.

• Assemble and secure pipes, tubes, fittings, and related equipment according to specifications.

• Perform hydro-testing assistance.

• Bolt flange connections (Flange Management).

Required Qualifications

• SSCE/WAEC.

• Trade Test I, II, III (Federal Ministry of Labour).

Experience Requirements

• Minimum 3-5 years relevant experience.

Technical Skills & Competencies

• Proficient with grinders, cutting torches, and threading machines.

• Basic math skills for measurements.

Key Performance Indicators (KPIs)

• Accuracy of cuts and bevels.

• Number of joints fitted per day.

Working Conditions

• Outdoor industrial environment.

Physical Requirements

• Heavy lifting and working in awkward positions.
