SCAFFOLDING SUPERVISOR

Reports To: Site Manager / HSE Manager

Job Summary

The Scaffolding Supervisor manages all scaffolding operations, ensuring safe erection, modification, and dismantling of access platforms in compliance with BS EN 12811 and Nigerian regulations.

Key Responsibilities

• Design and plan scaffolding structures based on access requirements.

• Supervise erection and dismantling of scaffolds.

• Inspect all scaffolds (Scafftag system) ensuring they are safe for use (Green Tag).

• Ensure compliance with TG20:13 and SG4:15 standards.

• Manage scaffolding material inventory.

• Conduct risk assessments for complex scaffolding (cantilevers, hanging scaffolds).

• Lead the scaffolding rescue team.

Required Qualifications

• HND/OND in Civil Engineering or related field.

Professional Certifications & Licenses

• CITB Advanced Scaffolder or equivalent.

• Scaffolding Inspection Certificate (CISRS/STI).

Experience Requirements

• Minimum 8-10 years in scaffolding, with 3 years as Supervisor.

Technical Skills & Competencies

• Load calculation for scaffold structures.

• Knowledge of tube & fitting and system scaffolds (Cuplok/Layher).

Key Performance Indicators (KPIs)

• Zero scaffold collapses or failures.

• Timeliness of scaffold availability for other trades.

• Accuracy of Scafftag records.

Working Conditions

• Working at significant heights.

Physical Requirements

• High level of physical fitness and agility.
