SENIOR BUYER

Job Title: SENIOR BUYER

 

To ensure the timely and cost-effective procurement of materials, equipment, and services required by the organization, while maintaining quality standards and compliance with procurement policies. The Buyer supports project and operational needs by sourcing reliable suppliers, negotiating favourable terms, and coordinating with internal stakeholders to meet delivery and budgetary expectations.

 

JOB SPECIFICATIONS:

· Minimum of 3–5 years relevant experience in procurement or supply chain management.

· Proven track record in purchasing materials, equipment, and services within a structured procurement environment.

· Experience working in industries such as oil & gas, EPC, manufacturing, or engineering is an added advantage.

 · Familiarity with international sourcing, vendor evaluation, and contract execution processes.

· Minimum Bachelor’s degree in Procurement, Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, Engineering, Economics, or a related field.

· Professional certifications such as CIPS (Chartered Institute of Procurement & Supply) or equivalent.

JOB DUTIES:

Procurement Execution:

· Source and procure materials, equipment, and services based on project or operational needs.

· Issue Requests for Quotation (RFQs), evaluate bids, and prepare comparative analysis.

· Identify, evaluate, and onboard qualified suppliers.

· Maintain supplier database and monitor supplier performance against key metrics (cost, quality, delivery).

· Negotiate prices, payment terms, and delivery conditions to achieve the best value.

· Support cost-saving initiatives through strategic sourcing.

· Create, issue, and track Purchase Orders (POs) in line with approved requisitions and budgets.

· Ensure timely follow-up and confirmation of order deliveries.

· Ensure all procurement activities comply with internal policies and external regulations.

· Maintain accurate and auditable procurement records.

· Liaise with Engineering, Operations, Finance, and Logistics to ensure alignment of procurement activities with company goals.

· Monitor and expedite supplier deliveries to ensure on-time arrival.

· Resolve delays, short shipments, or quality issues in coordination with stakeholders.

· Provide regular procurement reports and market intelligence to aid decision-making.

· Analyze price trends and supply market conditions.
