COATING SUPERVISOR
Department/Division:Corrosion Control
Reports To:Construction/Maintenance Manager
Job Summary
The Coating Supervisor oversees surface preparation and painting/coating application to ensure corrosion protection of assets in compliance with NACE/SSPC standards.
Key Responsibilities
-
Plan and supervise blasting and painting activities.

Ensure climatic conditions (Relative Humidity, Dew Point) are suitable for coating.

Inspect surface profile after blasting.
-
Monitor wet and dry film thickness (WFT/DFT).

Manage paint inventory and ensure correct mixing ratios.

Ensure proper disposal of hazardous waste (grit, paint cans).

Prepare coating inspection reports.
Required Qualifications
-
HND/B.Sc. in Chemistry or Engineering (desirable).
Professional Certifications & Licenses
-
NACE CIP Level 2 or SSPC PCI Level 2.
-
ICorr Level 2.
Experience Requirements
-
Minimum 8 years in industrial coating application.
Technical Skills & Competencies
-
Knowledge of various coating systems (Epoxy, Polyurethane, Zinc).

Use of inspection tools (Elcometer, Bresle patch).
Key Performance Indicators (KPIs)
-
Quality of coating (Pass rate of Holiday testing).

Productivity (sqm/day).
Working Conditions
-
Exposure to chemical fumes and dust.
Physical Requirements

Normal color vision.
