Department/Division: Logistics & Supply Chain / Warehouse

Reports To:Logistics Manager / Warehouse Superintendent

Job Summary

The Storekeeper is responsible for the efficient management of warehouse operations, including receiving, storing, issuing, and recording materials and equipment. This role ensures inventory accuracy and compliance with Nigerian Local Content material handling procedures and company HSE policies.

Key Responsibilities

  • Maintain accurate records of all incoming and outgoing materials using inventory management software (e.g., SAP, Oracle).

  • Inspect received goods for quality and quantity against purchase orders and waybills.

  • Ensure proper segregation of materials, including hazardous substances, in compliance with MSDS and Nigerian environmental regulations.

  • Conduct regular stock counts and reconcile physical stock with system records.

  • Issue materials to site personnel upon receipt of approved Material Requisition Forms (MRF).

  • Monitor stock levels and initiate re-order procedures to prevent project stoppages.

  • Maintain a clean and organized warehouse environment (5S methodology).

  • Coordinate with Logistics regarding the transport of materials to and from sites.

  • Ensure security of the warehouse and prevent pilferage or unauthorized access.

  • Report damaged or obsolete stock to management for write-off procedures.

Required Qualifications

  • HND or B.Sc. in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or related field.

  • Minimum of OND with extensive experience may be considered.

  • NYSC Discharge Certificate or Exemption Letter.

Professional Certifications & Licenses

  • Certificate in Inventory Management or Supply Chain (CIPS Level 2/3 desirable).

  • HSE Level 1 & 2 (ISPON/NISP).

Experience Requirements

  • Minimum 3-5 years of experience in storekeeping within the Nigerian Oil & Gas or Construction sector.

Technical Skills & Competencies

  • Proficiency in MS Office (Excel, Word) and Inventory Management Systems.

  • Knowledge of material handling and preservation techniques.

  • Understanding of incoterms and logistics documentation.

Key Performance Indicators (KPIs)

  • Inventory Record Accuracy (IRA) > 98%.

  • Zero safety incidents within the warehouse.

  • Time to process Material Requisitions (< 4 hours).

  • Zero stock-outs of critical consumables.

  • Reduction in material wastage/spoilage.

Working Conditions

  • Warehouse environment; may involve exposure to dust and heat.

  • Typical 6-day work week or rotation schedule depending on site location (Swamp/Offshore/Onshore).

Physical Requirements

  • Ability to lift heavy objects (up to 20kg).

  • Prolonged periods of standing and walking.
